After a storm in late February, announcing the coming spring, the main hall is bathing in the warm sun light.
The last blocks of snow have fallen down, and smashed quite a number of tiles...
Even parts of the roof have come off, together with the snow that was frozen to it.
Inside we enjoy the world of the Zuimonki (4-14), where "the roof and walls have many cracks and holes, and the whole floor being covered with pearls of snow, the monks hunch their shoulders from the cold and sigh in the darkness". Listening to the rain drops falling besides our cushions, I remember Master Ho-e's advice: "If one section of the building is broken and leaks, move to another to practice zazen". Let's sit one more time before it gets spring and work starts...
