Muho's trip to Switzerland (Summer 2008)

Muho and his family spend a week at the "Laboratoire village nomade", a community of artists in Western Switzerland, where they visited their friend Werner.

For the first time in a long time Muho fried some tempura. On this day, also a large bowl of fruits was served as dessert, as our visit fell just in between the harvest of strawberries and the harvest of cherries, so we had tons of each. Photo (c) Ayako Mogi (Werner's wife)

While the artists (the nomads that pass through the village) stay in the house, Werner and his wife sleep in this old circus van.

And inside this mongolian Yurte, called Asodesuka-ji ("Oh, is that right?"-temple) zazen is practiced every morning from 6am.

Muho had to get used to practicing kinhin walking in a circle.

After their visit, Werner lend Muho's family his Volkswagen bus, with which they travelled more than 5000 kilometers during the following 4 weeks.

That could be stressful at times:

"Family is the place where parents and children, husband and wife simultaneously all get on each other's nerves." (Sawaki Kodo)

"When a child is defiant, the parents curse, 'You don't understand anything' But what are the parents like? Isn't it also true that they don't understand anything either? ... Even funnier than watching the monkeys at the zoo is observing these humans on the loose" (Sawaki Kodo)
