Muho's trip to Thailand (Summer 2008)

Muho and his family spent two months in the summer of 2008 travelling through Thailand, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France and the Netherlands. These are Tomomi, Megumi and Hikaru at BKK Airport where the family stopped over for a week.

Sight seeing at Wat Poh and his reclining Buddha.

Figure of a Dutchman at Wat Poh.

Stone figures that remind of "Where the wild things are" .

Destroyed temple in Ayuttaya, the ancient capital north of Bangkok.

Decaptivated Buddha statues sitting in typical Theravada style: left foot tucked under right knee, right foot sitting on left knee. This posture is not recommend for actual sitting, as it is quite painful (see adult practice part 38). Nonetheless, the statues seem to manifest an attitude of "opening the hand of thought".

Megumi in front the famous Buddha head inside the root of a Bodhi tree.

Small statues at the back side of the same tree in Ayuttaya.

After sight seeing in the temples: Elephant ride.
